What can I say that hasn't been said by everyone else on theis thread. Benny is absolutely right Terry Pope is a legend in RWF terms. A fantastic rugby player a sense of humour that could not be matched by anyone else and of course that unforgetable toothless smile! As Tony Corbett said also, I was also lucky to have caught it and I know it's a worrying time for family friends and for Terry himself. I'm sure he will have his spirts lifted knowing that all his friends and fellow Royal Welchmen are thinking of him during these difficult times.
Can I also pass on the same sentiments from all the members of the Aberystwyth Branch RWFCA a number of whom served with Terry in the 1st Battalion.

Germany 79. Jack Murphy section commander, Terry was the 2i/c. What a section. Brilliant times. I'm 17yrs old and awestruck at these guys. I still have vivid images of Terry washing his feet in the boiling vessel every evening in the back of the 432. The brew always had a tang!! We're all thinking of you Terry.

    Re: Terry Pope

I did my trainging with Terry in 74 in Crick. & I used to babysit for him & Marilyn in Tidworth. I can still remember the night I was going into Walters bar in Lemgo & he was coming out & about an hour later he came running in & asked had any one seen his car outside the bar ?? It was then found burnt out up the woods.

    Re: Terry Pope

Spider and I are really to sorry to hear that Terry is so ill. He and Marilyn were great friends to us as far back as Tidworth days when we were first married. Here's hoping that a miracle may happen.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Terry and Marilyn and their family.
