RE transfer to 1st Battalion RWF
Hi,
Im currently a serving soldier with the Royal Engineers and have decided to transfer to the 1st battalion Royal Welsh. Can anyone shed some light as to what the Battalion is up to at the moment, what life is like at The Dale Barracks and any likely future deployments in the pipeline. Your help would be much appreciated.

If you go onto the Royal Welsh website it gives you sall the information they are able to divulge publically. Or, as a serving soldier give them a ring at Dale Camp I'm sure they will be more than please to bring you up to speed.
Glad to see you've decided to join.

Perhaps Jas Hill can respond? Most of us have been out so long, we wouldn't even remember the unload drill with the SLR.......They are still using SLR"s, aren't they :-)

Good timing Al, I left the Army today. 24 years 3 months done. All I would suggest is that he speak to his RCMO who Im sure will point him in the right direction. Hope this is of some help.

Re: RE transfer to 1st Battalion RWF
If you were to transfer to the Royal Welsh you could not be assured of a place in the 1st Bn. You need to bear in mind the 2nd Bn is in Tidworth and the way soldiers are assigned to the different Bns' is dicatated by the different Bn needs and requirements.
As Jase Hill states above you need to talk your transfer through with your own CoC who should point you firmly in the right direction.
