A very fine padre, would listen to you and offer very good advice, also gave a very good sermon.
I have some very good memories of Herbie.
    Rest in Peace.
    Joe.

    Re: Canon Herbert Lloyd

Canon Herbert Lloyd. BA. TD. CF. was a native of Ruthin, on completion of his Schooling and university, followed his National Service (NS) in the Royal Air Force. After a short time employed with local government and much to his father’s disappointment Herbert joined the Priesthood in 1958. His first parish was Wrexham with special responsibility for the High Town area. It was at this time Herbert became known and much loved friend to the Royal Welch Fusiliers. His support and friendship over many years (1958 – 2000) to the Regiment is summarised below.

Chaplain to RWF Depot Wrexham Barracks
Padre to The 3rd TA Bn RWF
Padre to The 4th Cdt Bn RWF
Chaplain to Royal Welch Fusilier Comrades Association.

Hebert travelled widely in support of the Regiment, on formal parades, special occasion and conducting funerals, weddings as requested by Regimental family members. His hummer and sense of fun was endemic, as Sir Joe has stated he was a “Solders Padre”.
