Re: 86th Reunion and AGM, Wrexham

    Hi Everyone
Just to enchance the comments by fellow members, it is all to do with budgeting and the TA support from Acoy 3 R Welsh, financing TA soldiers in support of regtl reunions is I'm afraid at the bottom of the priorities budget list for the TA at this present time, and ever since 101Bn REME moved into Hightown Barracks both Arthur Ellingham and Des Williams fought hard in the past to keep the Annual reunion going at Hightown Barracks and I for one appreciate that, but the enevitable has happened and the REME got their way, on the accommodation side, at the barracks all the rooms in the "Keep" are single soldiers rooms so comrades would have been limited on bed spaces anyway (most branches stay at the Wynstay or the College annyway). The shooting competition is deemed illegal for health and safety reasons (Pam 21 rules) so that's why that is not taking place this year no TA Soldiers to run it or supervise either.

So I think Des Williams has done a sterling job in keeping it going in Wrexham and by running it from the Memorial Hall, OK, so there is no shooting competition, no bar in Hightown but a good weekend will be had by all in Wrexham. I for one will be there and will I'm sure enjoy.

So, lets not get too dispondent and support Des and his team at RHQ and and get ouselves along to Wrexham that weekend in September.

    Best Regards

    Peter
I ehink you may have to, as it appears to be a "Hung Parliment" on the shooting comp at the moment, Aber Branch can always ery their luck at the Standard Bearers Comp instead this year.

    Hope you are keeping well
