Bugles and Drums of the British Army
Hi all,
For those interested in a little bit of history and in particular any ex drummers I found the following on you tube, a six part set of recordings on the history of Trumpets, Bugles and Drums of the British Army narrated by as he was then Lt Gen Sir Brian Horrocks.
They are old recordings from 1969 but the quality is not bad at all, in places's they are a bit dry but you can cherry pick the bits you like.
There was a question as to seniority of drummers on the forum not long ago, in one of the recordings there is a very good answer as to why drummers had a bit of an edge over the Pte/Fus in regiments.
I have found them interesting and well worth a listen.
Regards,
Joe.

Re: Bugles and Drums of the British Army
Hi 38,
I am not up to speed on posting links, I suggest you go on to you tube and enter the following "Bugles and Drums of the British Army" in the search bit and that should get you there.
You can listen to each part and as you finish part 1 part 2 will follow etc.
Hope you find it.
Cheers,
Joe.
