Has anyone heard yet what the % rise the Armed Forces are getting this year?

Also has anyone had the letter from Paymaster regarding the pesion rise?

I read somewhere that it would be released on the 20th March 09 although thats not official. In previous years it has been released by the end of Feb, so any rises might be lower than we would be expecting.

from dai warner i think the service pension are going up by 5.3%, but i tink the services pay raise is 3 .5%.

The Armed Forces Pay Review Body pay award for April 2009 is an increase to basic pay of 2.8% across all ranks upto (and including) the Rank of Brigadier. It is effective as of 1 Apr 09 (not phased in).

This means:
Officer's pay will rise between £416 to £2696 (gross) per year.
Soldiers pay will rise between £364 and £1248 (gross) per year.

I cannot find anything in the report relating to pensions.
