New Cap Badge
A debate has started on the RRW veteran’s site regarding the new Cap Badge and seeing the interesting debate with regard to the Regimental Colour on this site I wondered what members of the site thought about it. The actual photos shown do not in fairness show it in its best light.
Having seen the new cap badge in the flesh so to speak, I have to say it is of very good quality and very smart. My only criticism is it is much smaller than the old one. I would like to have seen it produced the same size. But you can’t please everyone and it is much better than the bent NAAFI fork our rivals in the Welsh Guards have to wear. I am now digging a fire trench for incoming.

Re: New Cap Badge
Colin, we have just had the largest turn out seen in Cardiff of 3 R WELSH soldiers since the the amalgamation with 226 turning out for the St David's Day celebration weekend and the change over to the new Cap Badge.
We had a particularly good turn out from the North Wales Companys who were very keen to get their new Cap Badges and hand in their old RRW ones which we have been wearing for the last 3 years !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: New Cap Badge
Sir,
Both the 1st and 2nd Battalion are waiting for the 9th to allow the 1st Battalion to return from Kenya. The 3rd Battalion changed over on the 1st because of the St Davids weekend in Maindy and this was the best time to catch them all together.
The last I heard about the woven cap badge was RHQ turned it down and are awaiting a better quality badge to be produced.
I must agree that the new cap badge is smaller than the current cap badge but never the less it will still be worn with pride by all members of the Regiment.

Colin,
As far as I am concerned it's things like the new cap badge that will help to make the lads more as "one".

Paul I agree 100%,but as I said previously when you actually see it the size it is more like a collar dog than a cap badge. However The Col of the Regt has put out his letter laying down all the details regarding Colours dress etc etc and we need to accept that and move on.By the way nice to hear from you.

Re: New Cap Badge
Thanks for info Colin. What is the collar dog for the Bn. Is it the same for both Bn's or are they different?
