Bearskin Caps
Hi,
Have today read (The Sun) regarding the MOD decision to retain Bearskin Caps, for the Guards Division, as it would cost £1million to find an alternative.
The MOD insists it only buys pelts from bears culled annually by the Canadian Authorities.
Purely curious, is it only only the Guards Division that have this quality bearskin?

All military bearskins are sourced from the same type of skins (they have an NSN). Bearskins are traditionally associated with the Guards Division, hence the press comment.
