30 Years ago this Chrismas day, i was doing a 24 hour stint on the Muff V.C.P. ( Londonderry ) in 6 inchs of snow, greeting the happy public a merry christmas, one elderly couple stopped and gave me a crate of Guinness which was shared amongs the patrol and went down very nicely, Just as well the IRA were on holidays.

Re: What was you doing
Just left school, before going to Depot Crickhowell in March 79 to start my training. A learning curve of a lifetime and becoming a Royal Welchman. Regards

Re: What was you doing
Thirty years ago today I was with rest of the Btn in Londonderry, (except those lucky buggers like Barry on R&R). Actually John I was in Charlie Coy in the Masonic Car Park. Spent Christmas Day on patrol in the Bogside, allthough I think there may have been a cease fire on at the time but I'm not sure. Mind you I never ever trusted them. Good old days though. LOL.

A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work
