    Re: Tattoo's

Never even thought about having any done during my 26 years service. Once worked for an ex-ranker brigadier who had tattoo's on the back of his hands (as well as in other places!), rather strange to see but don't know if he was unique?

Sid come on tell the truth mate, you where just to scared to have 1 you dont do pain.

in training we had a cockney lad, he came down to stay on leave in cardiff after his introduction to Brains SA he suggested we go for a tat, so we staggerd down to Doc Grahams, he had the hampshires on his shoulder i had the Regiment on mine, £5 it cost us, I was sick out side after not sure if it was the SA or the pain. And a £25 charge on return to Shorncliff for our troubles because we wernt surposed to have tats.

Hi Sid, 18 in total. Mostly whilst in Juniors, two new ones every leave! Done in Rhyl by a p**s artist I think, with an hot Iron.

The only time I could really afford a decent job was I joined the Bn and was in Chester the mid 70's. £10 for two Geisha girls on on my shoulders; then I realised it would mean beer tokens for the evening, so opted for two spiders at £1 each and the Geisha on the inside of my forearm. Barry, you were there needing gas and air, remember?

Anyway, I regret every one, but only because I went cheap and nasty. Paid for my lads back job for passing his A levels. A massive cross and it's a work of art. although it cost a lot.

Wellies had a cracker in Seattle - Old Man Time I seem to recall. Always wish I had waited.

Go on Sid get one, its not painful. One plumber I know is 60 and has just had a chest job.

    Re: Tattoo's

I remember a guy nicknamed 'OXO' in Tidworth (1st time around) who had a tatoo on his arm of two pigs humping - underneath it said 'Making Bacon'

Then there was a WOII from The Hampshires attached to the UDR at the same time I was. He'd have a few and come out with the same old thing every time - he'd approach someone - male or female, ask their name - and say they said "Angela" - he'd say "I've got your name tatooed on my willy" (only he never said 'willy')

He'd go on and on, betting them or having them dare him to prove it - always ended up in him whipping it out (I'd be long gone) and sure enough, on his 'willy' were the words 'your name'

How ****faced do you need to be to get a tatoo like that?
Working for yourself is great, not only can you work half days, you can choose which 12 hours!
