I have just been watching the tribute videos on u tube ,and i kid you not it bought a lump to my throat ,its the first time i have seen them,the song that goes with it,?wasnt the record banned in the 70s

hey rog, think it was called,The soldier. was in tidworth at the time 75/76 ish,have tried to get the link but can??their are two videos with the same song .

The song is called 'The Soldier's Song'.

I have heard two versions of the song, but don't know who wrote the original music/lyics and who sang the piece originally.
