    ok Paul

No problems mate you know I always like to work around your schedule, as I attend the old boys also. I'll have a word with Mac see what he can do. Mac is organising the North Reunion this year.

    Hi Rik.
Just a quick one have you got in touch with any of our overseas drummers to see if any of them are over in March ? would be good to work around them first if necessary, just a thought.
I'll be there anyway no matter what date now I've got plenty of notice to book time off,

    Re: Drums Reunion 2009

i've sent e mails to everyone on my database Guvs mate if any are coming over around March time please let me know because i'm sure Mac and I can try to arrange it around them. It Definately want be on the date of the old boys though. I know Hughes 10, is coming over from N. Ireland and i'm hoping Slim can make it. However our 5th Anniversary back at Neath i'm hoping we have more oversea drummers attend because I'm already planning that one. So they have a year to save plus its a momentous occassion.

PS the majority of our oversea drummers are all on this forum, so they get the information as soon as I post it. This Forum site is our part one orders as such. ha ha.

    regards

    Talking Re: Drums Reunion 2009

    Hi Rik and mac

Not one to winge , but i found the venue last year to be not the best , it was expensive and the beer was **** to be honest , why cant we either find a british legion or hold it at dale barracks or hightown Barracks .
The wynstay i imgine proved to be expensive , if we need a pub the band hold there do,s at the wynstay in ruabon .
If i am the only person that thinks this fair enough .
but no matter where it is i will be there

    cheers all
    led

    p.s
This is not a dig at Mac or Rick , they work hard to get the reunions up and running and do a fantastic job.

    Re: Drums Reunion 2009

Thanks for your comment Led, the reason Mac and I decided to hold them at Hotels is simply down to there being accomodation for them who travel from all over the country to attend these reunions mate. When I travel to Wrexham not having a dig at you now but I have no family living in North Wales that I know of that can accomodate a Drunk misses and ex Drummer like myself, unlike yourself who do.

Plus like we did last year after you had vacated the function stayed on drinking till the early hours, because we were residents at the Hotel.

When we had the inagural reunion at the Royal Welch Fusiliers club Swansea, they closed the bar dead on 23.30 hrs and made us leave by 12. Then all Drummers who had come to stay at various hotels went their seperate ways.

Another reason being mate, its much easier for those attending to just get showered and changed come to the function get leathered and just fall into bed.

Ex Drummers and wives of the likes of Dai Beer, Billy Humphries, Lambsy and Sid made a weekend of it by coming down on the Friday night and leaving on the Sunday. The rooms at the Castle hotel are not that costly either.

However I do agree with you on last years venue, there were alot of mistakes they made on their behalf, which I was very disappointed such as the buffet not being adiquate enough, the beer was **** I must admit. However It still got me leathered and hung over the next day.with that in mind they have been informed and where very appologetic on the whole afair..

Startigically its better for me to have it local to myself when its my turn purely down to cost on postage, phone calls, & petrol etc...I am however looking at other venues for our 5th anniversary in 2010.

    Re: Drums Reunion 2009

Right Gentlemen the Drums reunion is going to take place on Saturday the 28th of March 2009 at the Wynstay hotel Wrexham. Timings for this event will be published as soon as I receive them from Mac. Mac is unable to get to a computer at present, so therefore I will be publishing the details for him.

Please will you now place this into your diaries. and try to make every effort to attend this reunion...The reunions are only as good as those who attend and make it special.
