Would be nice to know when the Bn is officially in Cheser; I am aware that my son wishes to visit, so he can buy some items from he PRI shop for me.

Welcome home, all members and their families of the 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh (Royal Welch Fusiliers). An enormous thank you on behalf of all of the Forum members for a job well done. It is good to see you home - enjoy your leave.
Thanks must also go to your families who provided such strong support during the regiment's tours of duty.
Hopefull, people will turn out in their thousands to show their support for the battalion at the welcome home parade on the 6, September in Wrexham. To quote the CO, Col Huw James, "Regardless if you are a member of the Comrades, or are family or friends of those on parade, please make the effort to attend the day. It should be a marvellous day of which the Regiment can be proud."
The welcome home parade will undoubtedly be a very moving experience for them – and will give them a lasting memory of the esteem in which they are held.

Less the personnel on rear party (small QM party under Maj Bloor QM 1 R WELSH )the Battalion and families are complete in Chester. B Coy and elements of HQ Coy were the last to leave Cyprus and they arrived in Chester on Tue 19 Aug 08. The Battalion will take block leave 14 Sept 08. (after Swansea freedom parade). At the moment the BN is establishing it self in Dale Barracks and within our new brigade. As you are aware we will shortly have a HO / TO of Commanding Officers.

Hopefully there will be plenty of Forum Members out supporting the Regiment at the parade with video cameras to hand. Those abroad that are not able to make it (me) will look forward to a film show after the event. With luck the weather will be perfect.
Welcome back to the UK boys and well done on the fantastic job you continue to do.
