The Kabul Branch of The RWF Comrades -2008

Today Friday 15th August 2008 at the kind invitation of Gen Jon Riley RWF, the Kabul Branch of the RWF Comrades met and took tea at HQ ISAF Kabul. Eleven members were present. Gen Riley and his MA Maj Ollie Beard served tea, which was a very pleasant experience for all concerned!!

On a serious note it was great to meet up again with General Riley, Maj Gary Blewitt, Maj Beard, Sgt Andy Garrathy and Lcpl Gregory. All the guys are in good spirits, although the garrison has taken a knock in the last few days, indeed they were later to move onto the sundown repatriation of recently fallen members of the ISAF contingent.

General Riley is approaching retirement, and job suggestions from the boys included "Growing Roses" to the most popular "A Talking Head" on Sky News(Col Bob Stewart's nice little earner), this suggestion was firmly squashed by the General who said, and I quote " I look Sh** on TV"...... So growing roses in Camarthen it is then?

A big thanks to Andy Garrathy for organising the get together. It was a very nice way to pass away an hour, and we wish the serving guys a continued safe tour.

PS. The flag positioning was sorted by honest moz 18, I suspect he will be rolling Nick's Dice tomorrow morning!!
