Old Royal Welch Fusiliers Cap Badge

I know of and seen plenty of old 1 metal Royal Welsh Fusiliers (sh spelling)and 2 metal Royal Welch Fusiliers (ch spelling)cap badges but i had never seen a 2 metal Royal Welsh Fusiliers(sh spelling) which i picked up in Brecon Market, out of curiosity i was wondering how common/uncommon they are?

Re: Old Royal Welch Fusiliers Cap Badge

    Hello Trav,
I have a single metal (Brass) R.W.F. badge, with the spelling Welsh. I refer to it as a "Janker" badge, I do not know if the soubriquet is correct but the spelling Welsh started towards the end of the second Boer War, and carried on until about 1923, when a war Office Order reverted back to Welch. As a point of interest most of the old 2nd battalion in the Great War still put Welch on all their out going mail to tjheir families.
    Regards Don
