Sid and Scouse's Wrexham Blog!!

Back by 'sort of' popular demand is the latest in a series of miscellaneous blogs. This time we come live from Wrexham!!

It's Weds evening and Im in work when the phone rings..it's Uncle Sid requesting my attendance on a night out. Sid has arranged to met Paul Gough in town for a few 'quiete beers'!!Quickly remembering Sid's last night out at Al Pooles, I quickly booked some time off. I deemed it far too good an opportunity to miss and thought to myself, there is bound to be some Blog type shennanigans going on, so some time off was duly booked.

My first dilemma was whether to go back to Llangollen to get changed and miss out on drinking time, or head over to ASDA and get myself kitted out. So, ten mins later, there I am at the checkout of ASDA with a pair of shoes, jeans and a shirt. Grand total: £33!! Good old George at Asda!!The first worthy incident occurred before I had even got to sid and Heidi's... upon leaving the store I made my way to my car and parked next to me was a lovely young lady sat in her car. In good spirits for my forthcoming night out, I gave her a cheeky little smile that was recipricated. Game on I thought, play it cool Scouse....I then endeavoured to open my car door whilst the lovely lady watched closely. After a minute of fumbling with the lock, the nightmare was realised, I had got the wrong car!! Mine was parked in the next row. I did not even give her a second glance and drove out sharpish. So, a quick change at aunty Heidi's and a lift off Steffan, and it was into the nags to meet Sid and Paul Gough.

The evening started off at a meandering pace and all was well with the world. Sid was being very 'Blog Cautious', as he now calls it. That was until we approached 'Chicago Rock' and Sid informed us that a 'MADNESS' tribute band were playing. He then proceeded to walk across the zebra crossing doing a Madness type exaggerated walk whilst exclaiming to Paul and I.."IM A NUTTY BOY, ASK ANYONE!!". And so it begins!! As we got to the club we were kindly waved in by the door staff, to which Paul Gough commented.."OH, LOOK AT YOU TWO GETTING SPECIAL FAVOURS LIKE YOU ARE ROCK STARS!!" This coming from man who gets more BIG BROTHER air time than Davinna McCall!! We settled in and watched the band and Sid couldnt help himself and came out with.."HEY SCOUSE, EVEN IN LEMGO I WAS A NUTTY BOY!!" Apparantly He and Shaun Dillon were the ultimate SKA boys. Older members will have to confirm this for me?

You may have noticed form prevoius threads that the chosen attire of Paul Gough can sometimes be the subject of ridicule. Tonight was no exception. He dazzled us with his lovely grey cardigan, which he claimed was "REALLY COOL". Not quite cool enough of the girl who walked past him and said "Hey mate, it's not a school reunion" Classic. For those of you that have read the Cyprus Blog, you will be well aware that Sid has great difficulty in adjusting to civvy life and still refers to everything in Army terms.The slow bar service at the club last night prompted Sid to say "IM SORRY, BUT THE CIVVY BAR STAFF ARE NOT PULLING THEIR WEIGHT, ESPECIALLY AS THERE IS A FUNCTION ON!!" Er Sid, I believe it is a gig not a mess 'function'.

Sid's night got better when an ex-Regiment member(Who's name escaped us all) approached us and said hello. And in doing so, lovingly patted my stomach!! Cheeky git, I've lost half a stone since Cyprus!!Paul Gough then told me that during the afternoon he had met up with Sid for a coffee. Whilst in town they bumped into Howie Williams and Marie. During the conversation Marie apparantly told Sid that he is looking youthful!! He turned to Paul Gough and said "RIGHT THEN, IM WEARING THE SAME CLOTHES TONIGHT!!" And he did. This did not sit well with Goughie who said to me "IM GUTTED SCOUSE, ALL PEOPLE SAY TO ME IS THAT IM LOOKING TIRED!!" I then berrated Sid on his dress sense and told him that he is hardly Gok Wan. To which he replied.."BETTER THAN BEING A C**K FROM LLAN". Quite good for Sid, although I had to spoon feed him the line!!Speaking of fashion Faux Pas', Paul Gough was recently in Burtons with Den Morris, when Den picked up a trilby hat and said he was gonna get it cos' Gok Wan had one when Den was babysitting him!! Paul thankfully talked him out of it!!

Quite disturbingly, Sid then proceeded to dance in a John Travolta type style whilst shouting.."LOOK AT ME, WHAT A GUY, WHAT A GUY!!" People certainly did look at him, but they wer not saying what a 'GUY'!!

As the night neared it's end, Paul Gough was looking decidley the worse for wear and even lied to us that the bouncers were asking everyoe to leave. This was not true and a feeble attempt by Goghie to avoid saying 'I've had enough lads Im off'' It is also worth mentioning that when Goughie got the cold shoulder from some girl, He turned to us and stated "IT'S THERE IF I WANT IT!!" Er, I dont think they were her actual words Paul! A few moments later and Goughie drifted off into the night...ALONE!!

Sid and I shared a taxi back to his house, and upon reaching our destination Sid piped up with "SCOUSE, YOU OWE ME £1.80 FOR THE TAXI" Still as tight as Cyprus!!So we tiptoed into Chez Burns as not to wake Mein Fuhrer(I mean aunty Heidi). We then polished a bottle of port between uswhilst putting the world to rights!!
