    TOO britist what ever next

    Hi All

Please have a look at the petition for the Red Arrows and if you agree, please send to everyone you know.

    Mac

Outrageous Please forward this to as many people as possible!!! (British Citizens)

The world-famous Red Arrows have been banned from appearing at the 2012 London Olympics because they are deemed 'too British'. Organisers of the event say that the Arrows military background might be 'offensive' to other countries taking part in the Games. The display team have performed at more than 4000 events worldwide, but the Department of Culture, Media and Sport have deemed the display team 'too militaristically British.' Red Arrows pilots were said to be 'outraged', as they had hoped to put on a truly world class display for the Games, something which had never been seen before. Being axed from a British-based event for being 'too British' is an insult - the Arrows are a symbol of Britain.

The Red Arrows have been excellent ambassadors for British overseas trade, as they display their British-built Hawk aircraft all over the world.
The Arrows performed a short flypast in 2005 when the winning bid was announced, but their flypast at the Games was to have been truly spectacular.
It is to be hoped that common sense prevails.
If you disagree with this decision, sign the petition on the link http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/RedArrows...=redArrows2012
Forward this on to everyone you can.
What the heck is this country coming to?

Got to be honest, I'm apathetic about this to say the least. It's a sporting event, not trooping the colour.

    I've signed! How dare they?
Lets hope they listen to what the British people want, though I doubt it. Still at least the Red Arrows will know we were on their side.

Personaly I think a fly by from the RAF is not enough.

We should have a mounted Cavalry Parade followed by the Household Div trooping the Colours, have Kings Troop fire a gun salute, then march past all the local Tri Service Regiments/Corps etc, drums beating, bayonets fixed, Colours flying............then finish off with a display from the Royal Navy/ Royal Marines as they abseil from the top of the Stadium and then unfurl a 100 foot long Union Flag whilst signing God Save the Queen.....all done with bulled toecaps and shiny brass cap badges....

The nRed Arrows are a spectaculer that is well know to the world, and I believe that a fly past is essential. Do we not have a fly past for future 'Queens Birhday' parades?

I have signed, just a small comment, our local RBL held a meeting to attract new members for the Branch Commitee, a gentleman made the following comment " the people at the meeting were too millitary for my liking" or words to that effect I did point out to him that the RBL is a millitary style organisation, not everyone feels the same about the Forces as we do.

That is true Joe, the people who have no liking for the military are he ones who will not have anything to do with our guys returning from war zones.
