hey clive the reunions are all ways the first week end in september.i have been to a couple over the last few years and its great to meet people that you may not have seen for 30 years met a mate of mine vince murphy after 27 years brill.have been in touch with a few boys/men from the 70s some of them are book up allready..should be a good week end..didnt know about the march through.thanks for that.CVW..

I was worried about the date. My neice is getting married on the Saturday and I am taking the photos!!

I'm going to have to try and make it for the Friday night only.

I have spoken about a Support Company reunion so if it does go ahead I'm going to have to miss it, I cant leave my neice down, gutted!!!

Do we know the parade content yet. I always fell disapponted when we attend a parade and theirs a band that nobody knows and the 3rd Bn drums. No offence 3rd Bn but I like to see the 1st Bn on parade that can actually play. 94 is shortly in the chair. No doubt he'll have them up and running as a fully functioning corps for the parade. By the way, good luck in your new post 94.

Due to other commitments the details of the Bn's march through Wrexham has yet to be finalised. A date of Sat 06 Sep 08 has been set though. It is hoped that the 1st Bn Goat, Goat Major, Asslt Pioneers, Coprs of Drums (limited in numbers and probably back filled with members of the 3rd Bn), Two Guards (Companies) and the Colour Party will be on parade with support from the Regt Band.

A recce will take place in the summer to confirm details with the council, police etc and details of the parade will then be published.

The parade is to mark the return of the Bn from Cyprus and also the end of the Theatre Reserve Bn commitment. It is not initially planned to incorporate members of the Comrades Branches as we do not want to impact on the annual Comrades parade and church service on the Sunday morning.

Another parade is also planned for Swansea on Sat 13 Sep 08. (The 2nd Bn have marches planned for Brecon and Welshpool on Sat 17 May 08).

Just had a chastise for my post and I apologise, I have not made myself clear. I fully support the 3rd Bn Corps being on parade and I would expect them to be. I know most of the Drummers as friends and would not undermine their loyalty and professionalism in any way, all Im saying is that it is easy to forget that we also have the 1st Bn Drums and I would expect them to be on parade as drummers (thats what they are) and not thrown into the ranks because they have had no time for rehearsals or general practice. I hope this clears up my Last Post ? And please, no ear bending on the Comrades, I wont be able to hear you anyway.
