    S4C Program O'r Galon

I've just watched "O'r Galon from S4C on the web,it's about two Bethesda lads in Korea re-visiting the country they fought in in 1952 theres very good pictures of the R. W. F. on the train .I've never seen so many White Hackles hanging out of a train windows.{Were they later badged Welsh Reg?}I havent a clue how to put the link on the forum.I found it by searching the B B C site for S4C O'r Galon.Cliked S4c Watch.Cliked A to Z and found "O'r Galon Cyn Filwyr Corea. It's in Welsh but there is sub titles available.

    Hello Idris,
The men of the RWF who were transferred to the welsh regt in Korea were rebadged welsh, as were the 80 men who were sent to Korea to serve in the "Royal Fusiliers" and "The Kings Regiment" They were all rebadged with the badges of the regiments they were posted to.I met 2 of these men in Cardiff who served with the "Royal Fusiliers" they were twins and I trained them in Wrtexham and they in turn were posted to Korea. They were plunged straight into the deep end in Korea.I have heard on the grape vine the RWF applied for Korea as a battle honour?? Rumour has it that the MOD turned them down as not enough RWF badged men were on active service at this time.A most contentious point to debate over!!!!
    Regards Don
