    Re: Chat Room

Well, it looks like there are far more not using the chat room than there are using it, which is a pity as not many Boards have video as well as audio chat facilities.

We also have a group that would use it for an organised event. So folks, what about a live quiz once a week or a Bingo night in the chat room. Those who wanted to play, sign up beforehand ... for those that wanted to play Bingo, their game card would be sent via email or pm. On the night we play for a full house and, to make things interesting, have a small prize.

    What do you think?

Bob, Im not sure how flexible the Chat software is. What might be useful is a private chat facility. Quite often members may want to speak directly to another individual, without entering the public room, anything available.

Another area is Skype. Which is now being used heavily by the CP boys and girls and also those troops in Cyprus. Is there anything in the mods that utilizes Skype that would be of use to our site.

    Just some suggestions

As this package is free you don't get all the 'bells and whistles'. The only thing you can do is create a new room to chat in and hope others would respect your privacy and remain in the Lobby, or create a room of their own.

As far as I can tell, Skype currently doesn't have a web integration interface that would allow you to add or call a contact by clicking a button on a web page
