    A Good Example?

Britain's senior Traffic Cop doing 90mph (allegedly)

Reckon he'll get away with it, or not?

    Story Here

If not, what should his punishment be - same as anyone else or more?

    Re: A Good Example?

Yes my question is that if as quoted earlier (under discussion speed cameras) is the said person now guilty of a crime similar to theft, then does that not now make him unsuitable to continue as a senior police officer?

    What a poor Show aye!

90mph in a 60mph zone is not just speed plus its dam right speed abuse ! That what I call a nutter! THIRD TIME must be a prolific offender

He should not and will not get away with it. The Question is - Is he man enough to fall on his sword and remove himself from the ACPO Traffic committee.
I don't think he should have to resign from the job though, just as long as he gets the same punishment in court as any other member of the public.

    Re: A Good Example?

I have been known to break the speed limit and have been caught once - 1990 - the kids put me up to it.

So - if he has been caught 3 times - how many times has he not been caught - esp seeing as he knows who's about in his own patch etc etc.

Then again how many of us have fallen asleep in a sangar - smoked on sentry duty - worse?

Then again ...... again ..... we're not talking about some rookie bobby.

    Re: A Good Example?

In the army if you commit a civil offence you also commit a military offence. You go to civvy court and then the army has something else to say too.

OK - not if it's a parking ticket or maybe most other driving offence that warrants a fixed penalty - bar maybe DIC or running over a cyclist on Crib Goch.

Do the police work in the same way? i.e. "OK - you got fined the same as Joe Public would have got fined ...... BUT - you ain't Joe Public - Pal"

The guy is a hypocrit - he is not worthy of his position.

Lash him to a friggin' speed camera and throw decayed vegetation at him at 4 mph plus of the speed limit.

    My two cents!

    Re: A Good Example?

I am sure he wont get away with it!

But will the punishment fit the crime as if it was theft then he would be out,but it is a breaking the speed limit for a third time bit of a concern will he face a disciplinary hearing and get his knuckles wrapped, so watch this space!

But third time of offending his must face a ban and a move or something similar, as he has lost his credibility as a Senior Speed Cop!

Many offenders loose their jobs when they loose there license - this will not be the case here I am sure, and I am sure he is a good copper but just lost his way - Get a Sat Nav aye?

Must Congratulate N Wales Police for treating him as any other criminal and serving the fine, other orgs may have lost the paperwork, I just hope your signs are the right size distance and colour as he may appeal if not? as history shows!
