    Major Armine Wodehouse

It is with deep regret that we report the death of Major Armine Wodehouse, who died suddenly on the 16th July 2007 aged 71.

Many of our members will remember Armine with deep affection. Very much respected by his Fusiliers. I recall him as my Company Commander in Warminster during the 80's for a short period of time. A true gentleman, who was admired by his men.

There is to be a private funeral for family and close friends. There will be an announcement in both The Times and The Telegraph today(Fri 27th July), regarding a memorial service to be held at St Peters Church, Goodworth Clatwood, Friday 14th September at 11.30am .

The Forum passes on its condolences to his wife Louise and their family.

    Very sad indeed,
I remember Major Woodhouse as B coy Commander in the early days of the ist tour of Tidworth. He was an excellent OC and always put his men 1st. My condolences go out to his family and friends at this time.

Major Wodehouse was my OC in Honiton and Hong Kong. He was an outstanding officer and in his death, we have lost a real gentleman. He was a father and an elder who had won the hearts and minds of all those placed under his command.

His memory and legacy will forever be his strong faith in hard work, originality of ideas, fair-play, justice and kindness.

I also remember Maj. Wodehouse from the Hong Kong days. A smashing, friendly bloke who always had time for his men whatever the rank.
    May he rest in peace.
