All.
I've been transcribing the War Diaries for the First World War for all the Battalions that fought on the Western Front. The Diaries have been put on to Microsoft Word (latest version) and lodged with the Archive Team at Wrexham Library. They are free to access along as they are not used for professional profit. All you need to do if you want to receive a copy of any one of these files is to contact either myself (pete.ryder@ne.com) or the Archive Team (archives@wrexham.gov.uk). I have downloaded the National Archive files that have been digitised, and they are included in the folders I've saved and given to the RWF section of the Wrexham Museum/Archive. I have access to free downloading of already digitised War Diaries, after the Covid epidemic, as I was conducting research into the Royal Welch Fusiliers, and the pdf files so downloaded are included in the package.

I have hit a sticky problem. To get the National Archives to digitise more documents, I would have to pay over £200 to get the records for the 11th Battalion, who served in Salonica. Does anyone have either a hard copy of the War Diary I could borrow, or a pdf file or scan of the relevant pages? Further transcriptions for the Palestine & Mesopotamia campaigns could be made if the relevant War Diaries were made available to me.

The copy in the Wrexham Archive are subject to the ongoing storage in the secure Storage Facility under Wrexham County Borough Council, and cannot be brought out at the moment.

If anyone has any copies, and would be able or willing to lend them to me, I would be very grateful. Typed manuscripts were available, but transcribing into Word allows rapid searching of the Diaries for names, locations, dates, etc. I'd like to complete the full set, but the cost is prohibitive, and the National Archive do not seem to want to proceed with the ones they haven't already digitised yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank

Pet Ryder
