Good Morning,
Hope you all enjoyed the festive season.
I have a really interesting, but frustrating enquiry regarding National Service 1956-1958.
The enquirer joined for N.S. from University in 1956, Michael Charles Williams, born 1933 in Old Colwyn, father Capt. Robert Stanley Williams served with 5th Bn., Flintshire Territorials, discharged 1931.
He wants to be reunited with his Batman, P. Jones from Colwyn Bay, thinks his father had the main removals firm in Colwyn Bay. Not much to go on but I have an article attached about Malaya and a Fusilier called P. Jones. Sent it to him for identification.
The second person he wants to trace is Hugh Vaughan Williams, 2nd Lieutenant, B Company 2nd Bn., RWF. He was born in 1937-38 reg. no 448709, after N.S. he went to Cambridge and wrote a play for BBC called "The Terrorist" shown 1961. have attached some reviews from newspapers. He studied law and became a Circuit Judge in 1983.
I have posted a message on The British Legion facebook account, but I am struggling to think where else to enquire.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Patricia.
