Royal Welch Fusiliers 7th Bn.
HI Im doing a charity cycle ride in support of the RBL - to cycle 1,111 km by the 11 Nov and each ride visit a war cemetery and pick one causality and write his story.
an example is in the attached web page
https://sites.google.com/view/2022-p...connick-lovell
I visited a cemetery in Antwerp and picked FUSILIER EDGAR DAVIES Service Number: 14716979 who was killed on 17/12/44 (from Bethesda) - I been search for photos and the war diary for this date but not much luck. I believe that the battalion was in Holland by that date. So I assume he either was in hospital there and died of wounds OR he was on R&R and was killed at the REX cinema by a V2 rocket.
So if anyone can help with either the war diary around that date and any photos of the 7th about that time or even Edgar would be even better
Many thanks
Rob

Re: Royal Welch Fusiliers 7th Bn.
17/12 would have found the 7th out of the line according to the Regimental Records. Rex Cinema may be an alternative. Better check the war diary at TNA!
