Re: Robert (Bob) Lake
Bob had an important role in organising the Truce Memorial in Frelinghien in 2008 and I met him at the unveiling.
A sad loss. May he rest in peace.

Re: Robert (Bob) Lake
It is with great regret that we must announce that Major Robert (Bob) Lake passed away during the evening of 22nd March 2022, at the age of 73.
Bob joined the 1st Battalion The Royal Welch Fusiliers in Hong Kong in the early ’70s and became the Platoon Commander of 3 Platoon A Company. He served a full career serving with the Royal Welch Fusiliers and the Army Pay Corps.
On leaving the Army, he became the Regimental Secretary of the Royal Welch Fusiliers, as events emerged Bob was indeed the last Regimental Secretary of the Royal Welch Fusiliers having guided the Regiment through the merger to become The Royal Welsh. His last appointment was that of Chairman of the Royal Welch Fusiliers Comrades Association which he carried out for several years until he stepped down last year due to illness.
The funeral will be a private funeral for close family only.
Donations in his memory are to be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Research UK.
Letters of Condolences are to be sent to:
Mrs Lynda Lake
1 The Chase
Higher Kinnerton
Chester
CH4 9PA
Best regards

Re: Robert (Bob) Lake
I first got to meet Bob when I joined up as a junior soldier in Crickhowell in 1973. He was a platoon commander in training company. He was a true gentleman
