    Apologies for ignorance.

I am registered under "captainadjutantrwf" as my late father, Captain William Cochran Cochran, served 1939/45 (and earlier, joining the colours locally in China).

However, I must apologise that I am not very good with these forums and lost contact with you for some while until I posted another message on 8th November last year, this time concerning my mother's brother rather than my father, having discovered - or at least being told by a newly-discovered second cousin in Northern Ireland - that he (my uncle) was also a Fusilier, who became a paratrooper (or at least so I'm told).

This research is therefore as much on behalf of his grand-daughter as for myself.

Ever so sorry to trouble you good people, but did I ask my question in the wrong place in November? It's just that there has been no follow-up and I wondered if perhaps I posted the message in the wrong place where no-one can see it (apart from myself).

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be most grateful.

    Sorry to trouble you.

    Dennis Cochran.

    Re: Apologies for ignorance.

I checked your post history, and your question about your uncle was added to your well-replied posts about your father. It may be better to repost it with your uncles details in the subject head.

    Good Luck!

    ATB,

    Lars

    Re: Apologies for ignorance.

    Thank you Sir.

Have found I was ignorant too that my second cousin in Northern Ireland registered with this magnificent Forum a while back and gained knowledge of my uncle's service.

Amazing to think that probably two NCO'S (one my father 30 and the other 21, who became a Red Beret) were posted to the South Coast in July 1940 and the younger introduced the older to his sister who lived in the town they were posted to (out of which marriage cometh myself, now 71)!

    God bless The Royal Welch.
