Lance Corporal Kyle Burns 3rd Battalion The Royal Welsh

It is with deep regret that we must announce the death of Lance Corporal Kyle Burns, aged 36 from Cancer. He joined the Volunteer Reserves in 2008 as a Signalman with 39 Signal Regiment and subsequently served with 71 (Yeomanry) Signal Regiment, 3rd Bn Royal Anglian Regiment, 203 (Welsh) Field Hospital as a Royal Logistics Corps Driver and latterly with 3rd Battalion The Royal Welsh.

As a qualified Team Commander, he assisted in training recruits with the Regional Training team and has also taken part in the Lord Mayor parade mounted on horseback with 71 (Y) Sigs Regt.

Lately, he was a member of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Welsh MT Platoon and had completed Annual Deployments, Driving Cadres, normal AR duties and commitments. Kyle was a keen Adventurous trainer and hill-walker.

LCpl Burns was a Full Time Police Officer having initially been recruited to the Metropolitan Police, he transferred to Gwent Police to be closer to his welsh family and was currently serving with South Wales Police as a Response Officer.

Kyle is survived by his wife Jennifer and his 7 month old son Arthur. His father is Major Larry Burns (ex RWF/R WELSH) who is serving as QM 203 Field Hospital.
