I have been to Cheras Road Cemetery recently and photographed the graves of the servicemen who gave their lives in the Emergency. These include several Royal Welch Fusiliers. These will be posted on the www.roll-of-honour.com website soon but if anybody would like a copy for a particular man then please ask.

To all Forum Members'

This time of the year is now to Remember all our Fallen Past and Present.

" IN FLANDERS FIELDS "

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our Place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the grass below.

We are the Dead, short days ago
We lived, felt Dawn, saw Sunset glow
Loved and we're Loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrell with the Foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yoursto hold it high
We shall not, Sleep, though Poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

(John McCrae 1872 - 1918)

May all our thoughts be with you!

I have just completed putting on-line the photographs of the graves of the various servicemen buried in Cheras Road Cemetery, Kuala Lumpur. Of the Fusiliers I have just one photograph to complete which I shall do in May. The gravestones can be found at:

Cheras Road Graves (http://www.roll-of-honour.com/cgi-bin/cherasroad.cgi?Contingent=welch)

Any further detail to add to this information, including forenames would be very welcome. I can be emailed at rollofhonour@fastfreenet.com

Excellent work Martin, I'm sure your efforts mean so much to the familes of the bereaved, especially if they have been unable to visit the grave sites. We will get you the information you require ASAP.

Thanks again
