Davies John Gwynoro 14651752, 4th Battalion. Born 1922 Llanfyllin, Montgomeryshire. Mother's maiden name Thomas born 1893 in Newtown, Montgomeryshire.
John possibly married a Shelia M Jones in 1939 at Newtown, Montgomeryshire. She was born 6/9/1924 at Llanfyllin and died there in 1969
References : England and Wales Birth Index Volume 11B page 247
England and Wales Marriage Registration Index Volume 11B page 322

John's father Thomas was born in 1893 at Llanfyllin one of 5 Children : Edward D born 1891, John Lloyd 1895, Edwin 1899, and sister Margaret Mary 1897. All were born in LLanfyllin including his mother and father both being born around 1865. The 1901 Census for England and Wales still shows them living there.
He married Annie Thomas at Newton, Montgomeryshire in 1913.
Reference : England and Wales Marriage Registration Index Volume 11B page 212.

I would suspect given the size of the family etc., that there is a strong possibility that family members are still within the area.

George Tate was born on 25/9/1918 the son of Joseph Tate andCatherine Pulling. The family lived in Llandudno, North Wales. Joseph Tate served in theLancashire Fusiliers in WW1 and was badly wounded. George attended Great Ormeand Central schools and left the latter in 1933. At time of George’s death hisparents were living at Marian Road, Llandudno. Sorry for the poor quality of image but that is the only one I have found!
