Be useful to know what you have about "A Harding?" Could he be 4180452 Albert Harding ? No enlistment date in the available database.

I'm afraid that is all I Have I presume he was in the 6th with my father J Wood.4206696.On enlisting at Northampton and posted to 70th at Rhyl.

Hi Jerry, are the sleeve stripes representing the 3rd Bde, or are they the two stripes of the 2nd Bde, with a slightly thicker red strip (infantry) as the lower one?

I'm still unpacking my reference books after our recent move, can anyone recall what Formation had the dk blue shield with a red cross as their sign?

Interesting to note that the dark blue Field Service Cap is being worn as well, not the khaki one.

I had not considered that, though there was no RWF bn's in the 2nd (114th) brigade of the div. I assumed it was a either an optical illusion or just an ad hoc insignia! You do see the blue FS cap with BD worn by officers but not for OR's from what I remember, but as its home front during the the war, who can say. It is a lovely image.

My money would be on a red shield with a blue cross - 21st Army Group. 2nd brigade by seniority and red AoS for Infantry. There's nothing identifying the division though.

I went for St Davids Div as the shield has an obvious backing showing which does not appear to be part of the same patch as the brigade stripes and the 38th was sewn on that way, though happy to admit if I got it wrong.

I think you're right on that one Jerry. I was looking at one of those badges in the Museum Archive this afternoon - along with a lot of other very interesting stuff! :D I'm the RWF Archive's latest recruit...
