    Fus Nimmon 6th Bn RWF - Missing 1944

    looking for information as to what happened to Fusilier J Nimmon Service number 1500958 reported missing with my father on 25th Sept 1944 in NWE 6th Battalion RWF.
    I have checked on CWGC and no records are shown.

    Hope this is correct place for this.

    Welcome, i'll move this thread into the WW2 area. I have the missing men files for the 6th bn…I will check over the weekend. What was the name of your father?

    Further to my last, according to the attached document. Fus Nimmo ended up in a POW camp and was then liberated.

    Thanks for the reply My father was Cpl J Wood No 4206696 who possible one of 2 fusiliers.

    Drop me a Private Message if you'd like a copy of the battalions 1944 war diary. I charge 10p per page for copies of war diaries and I'll throw the regiments missing men file in for free. There will be battalion war diaries covering all of your mans service from the UK through the war. Any that are ordered a copy gets donated to the administrator of this forum to help build up their archives.

    Further to this Nimmo was also one of the 2nd Independent Company guys fighting in Norway in May 1940. A note mentions he was committed to hospital at Fauske, Norway. !! Not sure how he was repatriated.
