Jim sadly passed away on 17th June 2014 in a nursing home in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, after a long illness.

James (Jim) was born on 8th March 1926 and joined the Army on the 8th April 1944 serving in the R.F. No 1 Commando, SWB, RASC.

He was discharged from the Regular Army on 27th January 1948 and re-enlisted into the TA in January 1948 serving until 1952 serving with 599 HAA, Essex Regt, and the R A.

Jim settled down in Plaistow East London, until persuaded by his brother and sister-in-law to move nearer to them in Shepton Mallet where he lived for the last year.

Jim joined the Regimental Association in 1982 and he later became the Minutes Secretary and eventually became Life Vice President London Branch in July 2006.

Jim is to be cremated at the Mendip Crematorium, Old Wells Road, Croscombe, Wells, Somerset on Thursday 26th June 2014.
