How to get the most from the Research section
If you have come here for the first time, please remember that:
1 - We need information to do our research, so provide as many details as you can. If you just ask for information about "grandfather William Williams who served with the Royal Welch in the Great War", you will be disappointed.
2 - The members of the Research section bend over backwards to answer information requests. An acknowledgement will be appreciated, if only by clicking "Thank for this post". We do like to know that the info has actually been read. It's demotivating to think that nobody has actually looked at the reply and it may well discourage further efforts by other members to help you.
3 - It is wise to check back every now and then. Some section members may be away on duty or on holiday, and more information pertinent to the request may still appear after several weeks or even longer. If you believe that the first reply to your question sums up all available information, and never check back, you may miss interesting details.
4 - We do not know everything here, and sometimes we will be unable to do much more than point you in the right direction. If that enables you to find out more about your subject, please share it here with us so that we may be able to extend out knowledge of the Regiment's history.
John
Our researchers provide their time and considerable expertise for free. However if you want to say thank-you, a donation to the up-keep of the forum would be greatly appreciated. Click here to make a donation
