    Funeral of Cpl Daw

    All,

The body of Cpl Daw has now been released by the Cardiff Coroner. Details of the funeral are as follows.

    Date - 26 July 2013
    Time - 1400hrs
Location - Wenallt Chapel, Thornhill Crematorium, Cardiff . CF14 9UA

Although this is not a full Military funeral a bearer party will be found by members of the 1st Battalion. Cpl Daws parents and family were extremely proud of their sons military service and would like those attending to wear uniform ( No. 2 dress).

    Regards,

    Re: Funeral of Cpl Daw

An extract from my local Solihull Rag:

"SOLDIER IS FINALLY LAID TO REST.

Loved ones of a popular soldier from Cardiff who died whilst on a snow-boarding holiday in France have finally got to pay their last respects.

Simon Daw , 26, a serving soldier with 1 Royal Welsh had been on four tours of Afghanistan. In February he went on holiday with his mates to France, when he failed to return home after a night out.

His body was discovered two months later by hikers just outside the Les Deux Alps resort".

Deepest condolences to family, friends, comrades and serving colleagues of the 1st Bn Royal Welsh at this sad time, from all at London Branch RWFCA.
