    Re: Marion Jones

Oh Dear, having arrived home earlier from attending the funeral of William 'Bill' Haynes, imagine my sadness when logging on only to discover the very sad news of the passing of Wally 15's wife Marion.
I first met Marion when my wife and I (Vern) moved into our first Married Quarter (Flats in Minden) in 1964 - Marion was the experienced Army wife and her advice and guidance to the new and novice Army Wife was invaluable. Wally and Marion were exceptionally good company when we had a party or two in the flats - Marion would always warn Wally to "dispense with your rank you're at home with your neighbours now not in camp." He was a Cpl then and I was Fusilier, both in A Coy.

For Wally, I really feel for you mate and for once, words are failing me - I will write to you personally and in addition to all the offers of help and assistance abundent on this thread, if you need any help and if there is anything I can do for you, please give me a shout.
