Re: Andy Carnell (89)
Andy and I were in the Depot together in 72. Too young to join the Battalion in Londonderry we were promoted to Local Lcpl and posted to Junior soldiers company. It was job that I was not comfortable with so soon out of training myself but Andy took to it like a duck to water and helped me settle in and accept the responsibility. He was not much older than me but far more mature in his ways and remained a guiding influence to me and many others throughout his career, always there to lend an ear or advice. An honour and a privilege Andy, thankyou and Godbless.
If I can help somebody as I pass along, my living will not be in vain.
