Wyn Lewis in Wrexham Barracks 1939
Hi
I've been trying to piece some info about my dad.His name was Wyndham(Wyn) Lewis and i believe he was stationed in Wrexham Barracks in late 1939,when he met my mum and married her in Feb 1940.
All details re his enlistment dates etc are unknown but any info re him would be really welcome as a piece in jigsaw of life.
many thanks
Graham

Welcome Graham, its quite difficult unless you know what his service number was. Do you have that?

Thanks Al.
i suppose possibly my best route would be to try and find his War Pension records after first obtaining a copy of his death certificate. What would your advice be??

Welcome to the Forum, Graham.
First of all you'll need your father's Army registration number. You'll find it on his medals (if you have access to them). Then go to
http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/Ab...tOfKinForm.htm
and download the two forms necessary to get the service record from the MoD. The second form can be found under the "Related pages" link. It gives further details on how to apply.
Hope this helps.

Only one Wyndham Lewis in RWF in that era. His number was 4196043. This will be the number you want to supply on the forms as per Johns post #4 above. He transferred out to RASC 20 1 1942.

Do come back to the Forum, Graham. We are always interested in information about Royal Welchmen, so if your researches turn up an interesting story, we'd like to hear it.
Good luck with your MoD request!
John
