I Recruited Michael in to the Royal Welch Fusiliers, and from day one when i first met him his attitude to the Army was spot on, We also travelled to Iraq together on Op Telic 4 in which he was still as strong and commited to his job in the Royal Welch. R.I.P Michael It was a pleasure to have known you. Your family will always be proud of you as will the Great Galloping 23rd foot

    Re: Corporal Michael Thacker

Such sad news again. Michael, although a welshman lived just a short distance from me, having married a Coventry girl. Will anyone be printing these messages and sending/taking them to her at some point in the future? I just think it would be lovely for her to see that the Regiment does care.
Rest in peace Michael and may God watch over your loved ones.

The loss of any person is always difficult to come to terms with but the loss of a member of the Regimental family is very personal to us all. Michael paid the supreme sacrifice in the defence of his country. Sleep tight Michael your life's journey has wound it's course.
Sincere and heartfelt condolences to your family, friends and fellow comrades.....May God shine his light upon you and your loved ones now and always.
