Mysterious Butler
One Butler on my ORs list presents more than the usual problems.
A Sgt C. Butler landed 07/10/1914. His MIC gives no number but has him commissioned to the RWF, date unknown. That's all I can find. He is not in John Tyler's Officers list or the Casualty Reports.
Any further information would be most welcome.

Re: Mysterious Butler
Hi John
I honestly believe this to be a duplicate MIC and that the man you seek is 7728 James Buter.

Re: Mysterious Butler
I had a sneaky suspicion that such might be the case, Richard, thanks for confirming it. if we both believe it, it must be true!

Re: Mysterious Butler
Sounds like a plan :)
The kicker for me is that the MIC with no number, also has no references to any medal rolls and thus no medal issue from it. Also if you look at the MIC for 7728, you will see the same reference regarding the Star (WS/5/3033)

Re: Mysterious Butler
Hadn't noticed the similar Star refs, Richard. Certainly adds to the probability.
