    ALCpl/Lieutenant Thomas Edward Jones, RWF

I have the WWI trio to Thomas Edward Jones. He went as A/LCpl 21337 to France on 2/12/1915, probably 14th or possibly 15th RWF. He was not in his battalion long, as he was discharged to a commission in the 3/7th RWF on 20/12/1915. His 14/15star bears his number and L/Cpl appointment.

In 1925, according to his MIC, his adress is "Terfyn", Port Dinorwic, Carnarvonshire.

My question is if anyone knows if he served again in France, and with what regiment? His pair is with his lieutenant rank, so I guess that points to service abroad after his commission.

Any other biographical information would be appreciated aswell!

    Kind regards,
    Lars

Re: ALCpl/Lieutenant Thomas Edward Jones, RWF

Good to see you back, Lars!

To the best of my knowledge TE Jones remained with the 3/7th Bn until he was re-posted to France 01/09/1918 and was attached to the 9th Bn where he remained until the end of the war.

My date for his commission to 7th RWF is 21/12/1915. He was promoted Lt 01/07/1917.

    Hope this helps.

    Pob hwyl,

    John

Hywyn & John, many thanks for your most helpful answers. Now I should have no great problem identifying him in the censuses, and make a decent write up of the group.

    Kind regards,
    Lars
