Medal awards

Hello all,
I have received a pro forma for selecting members for an award of THE REGIMENTAL ASSOCIATION MEDAL 2012. I would like to bring it to the attention of all members that I perceive this to mean what the header states. In view of the fact that members were conned during the 2011 A.G.M. to accept this medal against both our covenant and the wishes of the recipients. And we were then promised a Royal Welch Fusiliers Comrades medal as well. But this promise has been reneged on. And as a consequence this RWF medal was denied members and a feeling of discontent exists right through the RWFCA branch membership.It is hoped to rectify this error and also clear up our inalienable right to put back in place our covenant and make full use of our executive committee and bring the power back where it belongs that is to say with the branches of the R.W.FC.A. I am posting this thread to let individual members know they are part of our organisation as well, and please take note of the consequences. I also intend to push to make the award of the RWFCA Comrades medals to be made retrospective AT THE 2012 A.G.M. if the excuse of being out of stock is trotted out THEN I SUGGEST THE BEST WAY OUT OF THIS MESS IS TO BUY MORE R.W.F.C,A. MEDAL AND HOLD A SEARCHING ENQUIRY AS TO HOW AND WHY THIS STOCK OF 12 Medals went, and why this was later amended to 8 medals. I am also sending an agenda in for the 2012 A.G.M. and I do not want it thrown out as was my agenda for the 2011 A.G.M. if it is, who ever disposes of it must accept the consequences of their actions I have not forgotten the lack of professionalism and chaos that occurred in the 2011 A.G.M. and we must take all steps to prevent such an A.G.M taking place under these conditions again

We wholly agree with you, it was an insult to the Royal Welch fusiliers recipient of this medal, our President Mr Richard Prichard who has been a loyal and staunch member of the Royal Welch Fusiliers Comrades association for over Thirty years received this honoured award and was taken aback when it was presented to him at our monthly meeting, unfortunately due to ill health Richard was unable to attend the reunion, our Branch Chairman Jim Rowlands agreed to receive it on his behalf, he assumed that the presentation would be at the AGM or the Regimental Dinner, Jim was livid at the way the medals was awarded, or a better word, handed out, willy nilly in the foyer late in the evening after a search, no official presentation, he also witnessed one of the recipients refusing to accept his medal and was told un-politely to send it back and apply for the “other” one, now we know why the presentation was not made in the presence of the Royal Welch Comrades, If we felt so strong about this why did we not complain or voice our concerns sooner, its because Richard is not the kind of person to complain, so we, in respect for him, kept quite, by the way Richard also served in the Welsh Regiment, Richard (RBD) you can be assured that this Branch will back and support you 100% in your quest for fair play for the Royal Welch Fusiliers Comrades at all times including at the AGM
