Ambiguity

Hello RWFCA Branch Secs
Re the last letter from R.H.Q. On reading it there is some ambiguity,in what it does not say, rather than what it does say. And on phoning some branch secs of the RWFCA, it leads one to believe that the Brecon A.G.M. is the only A.G.M. in 2012. This is not so; the R.W.F.C.A. will be holding their usual A.G.M. in 2012.
I am of the opinion that this feeling is pretty general within the R.W.F.C.A. branches. I have cleared the air with some branches, and will be persevering to clear a few more anomalies that this letter produced, by making contact with most of the branch secs to clarify the situation.In closing I wish to offer my best wishes for the success of this A.G.M.

Afternoon Brian.

I am an independant member of the RWFCA and as such I dont get to know what is being sernt to members. The letter that you are refuring to, is that just to branch Secs or to all members?

The only letter that I have received ref 2012 activity identifies the following:

Royal Welsh Regimental Association Reunion at Dering Lines 28th Jul.

Nominations for the Regimental Association Service Medal.

I did get back to Sue ref the RWFCA Reunion and that is still on with the Golf on 31st Aug and the Reunion 1st and 2nd Sep - no mention, however, of the AGM.

I also asked about the criteria for recommendations for the Association Medal and apparently the RWFCA Chairman is currently drafting a new document which isn't ready yet for publication - we're being asked to make nominations for the medal by 1st March 2012 but not in possesion of the revised procedure!

Bertie what happens at our A.G.M. is of importance to all members of the R.W.F.C.A. whether they are independent members or not.The only flaw is that independent members are not informed of what is happening in the general run of things is because they are not in a branch mainly for domiciliary reasons, apart from other considerations. That is why I try to let as many independent members know what is going on and will try to keep informing all and sundry of what IS going on. I will now try to extrapolate on the wording of this most contentious letter. The heading is REUNION OF THE ROYAL WELSH REGIMENTAL ASSOCIATION DERING LINES BRECON 28TH JULY 2012, and asks all members to mark this date in their DAIRY.The letter is some thing like subliminal advertising,in as much as it does not refer to our Regimental A.G.M. to be held on Friday the31st of August 2012 until the 1st & 2nd of September 2012.Underneath the above details is the following information.THE REGIMENTAL ASSOCIATION SERVICE MEDAL. It states that ALL BRANCHES are required to nominate members for this medal. by 01 March 2012. Now what it singularly fails to mention is does this medal apply to the R.W.F.C.A.members or are we going to revert back to our own R.W.F.C.A. comrades medal in 2012 which is what the majority of branch members and secretaries desire?? Our comrades medal was not issued in 2011. I would like to obtain permission some how or other to award the comrades of the RWFCA who missed out on being awarded our own medal to be able to have the RWFCA medal awarded retrospectively at our A.G.M in 2012. If as I believe to be true the R.W.F.C.A. are out of stock due to the last 12 or as it later turned out to be a figure 8 of our medals which were disposed of. Then the most obvious thing to do is order more asap.for issue in 2012.
The letter also fails to mention where these medals are to be awarded.Does this mean that any one who does not attend the Brecon A.G.M. will lose out by default. I hope this explanation helps to clarify the letters and their ambiguity. And will give some guidance to the branch secretaries of the R.W.F C.A as to which medals are going to be awarded to their members next year.
