Obituaries
Hello All,
Whist in Maindy barracks last week, I was asked by Major Hooley to act as intermediary to try and glean more information on the demise of any Royal Welchmen. It appears Cardiff have a certain lack of information on many of the deaths of Royal Welchmen. Having phoned Major Hooley this A.M I asked for the ground rules to be clarified which he very kindly did. And working in tandem with Cardiff I will try and obtain more information for inclusion in the obituary pages of Y Cymro. It is perceived that Cardiff have a firm grip on members of the 2nd and 3rd battalions who depart into "The great parade ground in the sky" But they are some times lacking more detailed information on the RWF comrades who depart this mortal coil. So if possible I can relay any confirmed untimely deaths of our comrades. I will need as much detail as possible such as army number and some of his service record etc. I will then zoom these over to Cardiff for Major Hooley to place on file for the journal in plenty of time. As a point of interest this years journal had to be held over for a while to place the obituaries of both "Strasser" and Captain Blewitt. It goes with out saying I would fully appreciate the co-operation of both the forum members and branch secretaries in this worthwhile project.
Regards
