My thanks to one and all. Very decent of so many to help me get to the bottom of the testing/trialing of the No5 Jungle. I shall summarize and relay to my mate (a retired US Marine Col and Sf guy) who found the rifle. He'll be fascinated. Many thanks. Owen

If you are passing info on about the mark 5 jungle rifle I forgot to mention the following. I expressed the opinion that the mark 5 had a recoil that was considered to be hard. I did not think this right but on reflection I used a modified version but still a mark 5 and this had a rubber butt minus the butt trap, oil bottle and pull through. It also had a flash eliminator. A good weapon all in all.
