    Fantasy Football 2011/2012

Many thanks to everyone who took part this past season. I do hope you enjoyed playing in our private Mini League.

In preparation for the forthcoming season, I wanted to throw a couple of points out there. The league we play in allows us a league with up to 40 teams and no ads on user pages - This costs £10. I have also in the past put up prize money for the winner and runner-up, usually £50. Whilst I am happy to do this for next season, I wanted to know what members thought of paying an small entrance fee to take part.

Please let me know what you think and vote in the poll provided.

Look forward to seeing everyone back for the 2011/12 season!

    Re: Fantasy Football 2011/2012

Are you up for the Fantasy Football challenge?

I have switched and signed up to the MailOnline Fantasy Football. Their version of the game is more realistic and offers you a lot more options.

To take up the challenge visit their website http://fantasyfootball.dailymail.co....ferer=MM000469 and register. Once you've registered and created your team, you'll be able to join the league - you'll just need the Mini League PIN and name shown below to join. Once you have joined, please post your team name in this thread.

    Mini League PIN: 8000891
Mini League Name: Royal Welch Forum

If you are willing to put £5 into the prize-money pot, please vote in the poll above. At the moment eight members are willing to contribute toward the fund. If we don’t reach a target of at least £50, I will make up the short fall; however, only those that have contributed will be eligible to win the prize-money - anyone else who wins the title gets bragging rights only!

    Creating Your Team

Choose 11 players and 4 substitutes to form your squad. You have £100m to spend and can choose any of the following formations: 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-5-1, 5-3-2 or 3-5-2.
You can bring your substitutes into your team at any time before the first scheduled kick-off each day. This means, you can get best value out of your 15 man squad to maximise your chances to score points and best of all, it doesn't use up any of your transfers! You can swap a substitute with any player in your team, provided that it creates a valid team formation.

You can choose between five formations and switch between them during the season, to offer your players the best positions - and earn your team the most points! You'll have the opportunity to make lots of transfers to keep your team in top form and our substitutes feature will give you the opportunity to pick up even more points.

    Making Transfers

You'll have a whopping 32 transfers available to you during the season. You can make up to 16 transfers before December 30, 2011. Then we'll give you another 16 transfers to use for the remainder of the season. Make your transfers before the earliest scheduled kick-off for them to score points on the same day.

    Team Captain

You must nominate one of your players as Captain – he’ll score double points for your team (minus points are doubled too!). You’ll be able to change your Captain nomination 5 times up to December 30, 2011, and a further 5 times after this date.

    Scoring Points

The game will start with the first Premier League matches scheduled for 13th August 2011. Here’s how to score:

    All players
    Full appearance +2 pts
    Part appearance +1 pt
Win bonus +3, Draw bonus +1 pt
Goal scored (inc penalty shoot-outs) keeper/defender +10 pts, midfielder +8 pts, striker +5 pts
Key contribution to a goal +3 pts
Yellow card –2 pts (2 yellow cards leading to a red card will count –5 pts)
    Sent off –5 pts
Missed penalty (inc penalty shoot-outs) – 5 pts

    For defenders and goalkeepers only:

Clean sheet (players completing full match only) +4 pts
Clean sheet (players completing part of a match only) +2 pts
    Goal conceded –1 pt

For goalkeepers only: penalty save (inc shoot-outs) +5 pts (for these points to be awarded the goalkeeper must have touched the ball with some part of his body

Your nominated captain scores double points.

Your substitutes on the bench do not score points.

Scores and leader boards will be updated daily on the Game Website.

    Re: Fantasy Football 2011/2012

    FAQs

Is it really free to play?
Yes! MailOnline Fantasy Football really is FREE to play! Players will compete in a league for the £40,000 prize fund.

Can I have more than one login?
No, only one login per person is permitted.

How do I choose a team?
Each player has been given a value in £(m) based on their performance over the last two Premier League seasons. You can choose as many players from the same team as you like but your eleven-man team plus your four substitutes must not exceed a total value of £100m. You can choose a 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 formation.

How many transfers can I make?
Up to 32 during the course of the season. You'll have 16 transfers for use until Tuesday, December 30, 2011, and then you'll be given a further 16 transfers to see you through to the end of the season. You can make as many transfers as you like at a time.

    How do substitutions work?
You can swap your substitutes into your team at any time without using up any of your transfer allocation. If you promote one of your substitutes before the first scheduled kick-off on any day, then he will score points for you the same day (assuming he plays!). If you move you captain to your subs bench, then the oncoming player DOES NOT take over the captaincy.

How do I select a captain?

To select your captain you must simply click the star next to the player you wish to make your captain. Choose wisely though as your captain will score double points for your team.

How many captain changes can I make?
Up to 10 during the course of the season. You'll have 5 captain changes for use until Tuesday, December 30, 2011, and then you'll be given a further 5 captain changes to see you through to the end of the season.

Can unused transfers and captain changes be carried over?
No. Everyone will start again with 16 transfers and 5 captain changes on December 30, 2011.

If I transfer the player selected as captain out of my team, does the incoming player take over as captain and will it count as one of my captaincy changes?
Your incoming player over will take over as captain and you will not lose a captain change.

    Re: Fantasy Football 2011/2012

The following are currently registered to take part in this year's competition.

Participants must be registered before the scheduled kick-off of the first game of the English Premier League season on Saturday, August 13, 2011 to be eligible score points during the matches played on that day. Thereafter, teams will score points from the next earliest daily scheduled kick-off after entry has been completed.

There is no restriction on the number of players chosen from the same Premier League team. Managers not wishing to select their own team but wishing to participate in the MailOnline Fantasy Football Game may do so by selecting the auto team-select option.

Please be aware that any transfers made between now and 11 Aug do not count against the transfers available to you when the season starts on 13 Aug

    Bob,

I am away in Canada from this Thurs and not returning until 05 Aug. hopefully by then the transfer window will have slowed down and i will be able to pick a team that may challenge for the top spot (don't hold you breathe though, looking at my past performances)

    Regards
