    Forgotten voices of Burma.

Fighting in dense jungle and open paddy fields. this brutal campaign was the longest fought by the BritishCommonwealth in the Second world War. But the troops taking part were a forgotten army. and the story of their remakable feats and their courage is told-much of it for the first time- in this remakable new oral history. The author is Julian Thompson.

Agreed, a good book. Well worth packing, if your looking for a holiday read. He has some interesting views on the role of the Chindits. However If you want to read a soldiers view of that conflict, try "All Quartered Safe Out There" by George Macdonald Frasier(Author of the flashman books). Written by a private soldier, who just happened to be one of Britain's greatest storytellers.
