Information please
I have been asked if i can find any information on this chap.
he is my wifes great grandfather and grandfather to my mother in law.
I have two documents to go on.
letter one.
From the infantry records office at Warley dated 27/10/1920
with ref to one.
22310.
Pte Fredrick Turner
c company,
the 2nd btn the suffolk reg.
to state that he had been reinturned at Hermies Hill British Cemetary
8 miles east of Bapaume.
The second document is A4/A5 size looks like a mass produced item with the details of fredrick including the woman he married (for want of a word..stuck on) to said document
the text on it reads.
From the uttermost ends of the earth
for King and country
to the glory of god.
1914...1918
we know he lost his life on the 27/9/1918, aged 25.
there are medals within the family,i made a phone call early on to an uncle who is going to dig them out,so i should know then what he was awarded.
?could any one provide any information on this chap with regard to when the soffolks went in to the theater of was.ect ect.
Guys any information will be greatfully recieved..
cheers with advanced thanks.

Re: Information please
Some more info:
22310 Pte Fredrick Turner, "C" Coy, 2/Suffolk
Born Swanley, Kent. Enlisted Chatham.
Husband of Mrs. E. F. Clarke (formerly Turner), of 2, Northampton Terrace, Priory St., Newport Pagnell, Bucks.
Buried Hermies Hill British Cemetery, grave IV.F.12.
The CWGC says:
"Hermies was seized on the morning of the 9th April 1917, by a surprise attack of the 2nd and 3rd Australian Infantry Battalions. It was held against the advancing Germans on the 22nd March 1918, by the 17th Division, but evacuated on the following day; and it was retaken in September 1918."
So he was very likely killed during the recapture of Hermies.
