Trying to discover a Record of Service

    Hi all

Trying to help a friend whose father served in the India Division - poss. 2nd Batt - Regt. It is believed their troop ship was sunk off the coast of Africa possibly on the outbound journey though this is not certain. Can anyone help with this or another info regarding this division of the RWF.

    Many thanks

I think your correct, i'm pretty certain the ship carrying the Battalions transport(or similar)was sunk on route from the UK to South Africa. Hopefully one of our members can give you the details from "Red Dragon". It was the 2nd Bn, it may also be covered in the book by Gen Jon Riley : The Life and Campaigns of Hughie Stockwell. He commanded the 2nd Bn during the Madagascar landings.
