    wishing to find more about my father.
    George Clarence Roberts
    Army No 4186892
    First joined January 19th 1926 10 years in the reserve 9years with colours.
    Evacuated from Dunkirk taken prisoner later any info about his life most welcome

    Welcome Tony, sounds like he had an interesting war. Evacuated at Dunkirk indicates he was possibly with the 1st Battalion. However his later capture is unusual, as the 1st Bn later went to the far east. Did he actually get evacuated or was he captured before that? Have you obtained his service records from the MOD yet. We would be interested in some of the detail. You may be interested to read the transcript of the 1st Battalion War Diary, which covers the retreat at Dunkirk. Its located within "The Vault"
